Who would have thought that futzing about visas would become my stress relief? Coronavirus puts things in a new perspective…
My wife has her biometrics appointment for her spouse visa next week (if it doesn’t get delayed because of coronavirus :-/). I’ve got two questions; I’ll post them in separate threads for folks’ future reference. She’s applying in Nashville.
This thread is about which documents to self upload, and which to take to the biometrics appointment. I think I have the documents more or less right, so hopefully this will be useful for others. But I have one or two questions. I’ve put the documents that we have self-uploaded here, and then the questions below - I would love help if anyone knows the answer.
Here are the documents - any comments v welcome!
Applicant Documents
1. Cover Letter
2. Color copy of passport bio page
Sponsor Documents
1. Cover Letter

Financial Documents
1. 6 months of original payslips showing > £18,600 before tax.
2. 6 months of bank statements showing the deposit of each payslip
3. UK employer letter stating
i) current employment and salary
ii) length of employment
iii) length of time earning current salary
iv) type of employment
v) veracity of my payslips
Evidence of accommodation [I own my flat]
- Land registry title
- Recent (Jan 2020) mortgage statement
Proof of relationship
1. Marriage Certificate
2. Photos of us together
3. Evidence of long distance relationship for the periods we have lived apart
4. Evidence of joint residence for the period when we lived together in the UK
5. Copy of her spouse visa from previous residence in UK
6. Evidence of joint financial responsibilities (shared bank account, shared insurance premiums)
And here are the Questions-
- Should we be including any forms? I’m assuming we don’t upload the PDF of her application. But should we upload the Document Checklist?
- Do we need to include scans of the applicant’s passport other than the bio page? The language in the document checklist isn’t clear, but since we are sending a physical copy, I assume not.
- Are we missing anything?
