FLR M URGENT question employment ..
« on: March 17, 2020, 01:04:53 PM »
SENDING OFF FLR M APPLICATION THIS WEEK ....

So during this economic crises my husband is about to find himself out of a job. He is in the cafe industry for a small independent company.

my question is as his BRP expiry date is the 7th April would he be still able to get work while he is waiting for his Visa.. or are we now in the position where we would be forced to pay the £800 for a quick decision ?

Many thanks

Are you relying on his income to meet the requirements?  If so, pay the extra.

If you are using your income and he finds himself out of work, it's a non-issue.

Big hugs.  I am also looking at being made redundant.  IT BLOWS!

So after this week i will have all the relevant documents for his visa to show he has met the income etc.

Do you think in the meantime other employment would still take him on for work while his visa is being processed?

Gosh its just a very scary time ! Baby due next Tuesday trying to stay calm

Are you relying on his income or are you using yours?

He is technically allowed to work, but will likely have the obstacle of it being very hard to *prove* he has the right to work, as it onus will be on the employer to confirm his rights are extended.  It'll be easier once he has his BRP, though the whole economy is tanking right now.

Big hugs!

We are using his income as i am self employed.

This is the tricky decision ..  he had just the other day been offered another job which was not the best timing with needing to do Visa but as he has to work a month notice anyway we thought would be ok.

It is still in the restaurant industry so of course there are no guarantees with that now with everything going on but he will certainly have to look for other employment in the meantime now his current job is going to close so though of course no one has the money to spare for the fast decision if hes going to need his new BRP to get work we might just have to do it.... I guess we will see what they say.
