FLR(M) Document Upload & Check
« on: January 31, 2020, 01:54:36 PM »
Hi All,

In case it might be useful to others, I just wanted to post my document list and the categories I’ve uploaded them under. I’m also up for any suggestions about how I’ve classified these. I know our correspondence stuff is not exactly equally spaced, but it’s the best we could do. I have biometrics in the last week of February 2020, so I still have time to tweak things if needed...

Latest Dated Evidence: 20 December 2019 (exactly 28 days prior to application - phew!)

For info: My spouse has been married once before and has two children whose official registered address is with their mum. We are meeting the financial requirement through Category A on my spouse's income.

Just wanted to give an update... I went to my biometrics appointment today at the Manchester core centre (Central Library). I arrived an hour before my scheduled time and was seen right away. I was first ushered into a self-service booth by myself where I scanned my appointment QR code and my passport. I then took my own photo and fingerprints. Then I had to wait to be seen at a desk with an agent. After a short while they called me and my husband over. The agent scanned my QR code and passport again. He then went through my document uploads in silence. He said all my mandatory documents looked great and I asked him if he needed to see any originals. He said no. I was also told to keep my BRP which was unexpected -- I assume you must send it back when/if you receive your new one?

So, highlights:

  • arrived early, seen right away, partner allowed to accompany me
  • more self-service than expected
  • was not asked to present any original evidence for verification
  • in & out in 25 minutes
  • retained all documents, including BRP

Sounds good! A bit annoying if you’re left on your own to scan and take your own pics if you paid extra? I have seen people say that they are required to send back the old BRP but at my appointment I asked and she said ‘keep it for your records’ & the new one came with no instructions to mail back old one. I realise she (Biometrics appt worker) is not a direct UKVI employee but I’m keeping mine based on her advice and no info in letters received...I hope this is correct!

Congratulations on getting it done. I’d say he was right. Looks like all your documents were in great order 👍 fingers crossed you get a good result soon!

They do send a letter telling you to cut it up and return it to a specific address though.

You should have gotten two separate pieces of post, one had the BRP card and the second was an explanation of what privileges your BRP gives you and what to do with your old one.

Some people get their BRP first and some people get that letter first. I got my BRP first.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Oh! I forgot to add... I know it's only been a day, but I have not received any email acknowledgment regarding attendance to biometrics. Just FYI  ;)

Yeah thank you - read them both in full and no mention of this! They do list the BRP returns address under the section that says if there are mistakes then to send your contact details there. Perhaps it has changed.

Happy update! Also... shockingly fast for a standard decision  :o

I received a letter today (dated 12 March 2020) which granted my FLR(M). It says I should receive my BRP within 7-10 days of the date on the letter. I'm insanely grateful for the fast decision, but I honestly panicked when I saw the thin letter. I absolutely thought it was going to request more evidence or worse. It's surreal to have gotten a standard decision in ~10 business days.

Application submitted online: 17 January 2020
Biometrics attended: 28 February 2020
Decision made: 12 March 2020 (date of letter)
BRP received: pending...

Thanks to everyone for the help and best of luck to all! Hope you're all safe and sound during this intense time. Take care, people  :)
