Zing!!! The Sopra site got back to me later yesterday and said they would send a new code within 2 days.....and they followed up and did so this morning. I'm in. Now I'd like a recommendation on what level to go with. We should have all the documents already but for the bank statements which we got through the Lloyds in town last time without any problem.
Core- I'd have to travel to Birmingham or Manchester.....don't want to.
Enhanced- Leeds seems to have one which is as close/easy as any choice. They will scan my documents. I don't care if they check documents over....although the site says they want you to upload any documents you want checked 48 hrs ahead of time.
Premium Lounge- sounds like a waste
VIP visit- I would assume this would be a good bit more money, but I don't know how much more. They would come to your house. Any idea how much?
Document check
-Passport for both myself (American) and wife.
-Declaration of partner
-Foreign State Pension document. I don't really need this since I am going off our savings in the bank, but I put it down on the application. It's just a booklet they gave me when retiring stating what my monthly benefits would be. The money coming in is also pretty obvious on the bank statements.
-6 letters/documents. No problem, plenty of council tax/utilities/bank statements.
-Bank statements. No problem. Just need to arrange an appointment at Lloyds.
-Council tax. Yes. We own the home.
-Current BRP. Yes, good until July.
-My last US passport.
-Monthly housing costs. Utilities-couple of water bills for the time period, couple of council tax forms, bank statements show NPower/Yorkshire water bills. We used council tax, water statements and bank statements on FLR.
Actually, you should have had everything in hand before applying. Get the bank statements now in case the banks shut and make sure they go back a full 6 months minimum before the date of the online application. 7 is safer.
Don't provide the pension document if you are relying on savings, it will confuse the application.
You will need the deeds to your house or land registry document to prove ownership.
You will need your marriage certificate and any divorce or death certificates.
The mail needs to be 6 joint pieces or 12 individual or a combination of the two. They need to be evenly spaced over the 2.5 years preceding the application.
You have passed your life in the UK test?
I think those home visit appointments used to be in the region of £10,000. I don't know what they are now.
