That’s annoying. Is it far to the nearest Core Service Point? Could you get there instead?

Personally, I would prefer to scan my own documents because although it takes a while, at least you know it will all be done properly and nothing will have been missed. Whereas if they scan for you, you won’t know exactly how they are scanning everything.

I agree.

When we applied there was photocopying rather than scanning to be done. It will take a while but it's not that bad and you will have the satisfaction of being one step closer to the goal!   :)

Yeah both of you make good points, at least doing it ourselves we can ensure everything is in there.

Question about the process.  At what point do you scan and upload your documents?  And how long do you have to do that?  Like, do you pay your fees and submit the application and then have a window to upload everything?  Or do you scan and upload, THEN submit the application and pay?

Once you start filling out your application, how long do they give you to submit it before it expires?  I seem to remember the first visa, it gave you either 10 or 30 days - can't recall which it was now.

And a question about our bank statements.  Since I was furloughed in March, the payments have been weird.  I've received 1 payment thus far, which covered the period of March 30th through May 3rd.  The payment was put into our bank account in 2 amounts.  The first payment was one week, and then a week later was a smaller amount to cover the remainder of the period.  The problem is that only the first payment is reflected in our most recent bank statement - the smaller amount won't be reflected until our June statement.  That's not ideal for us.  Lloyd's Bank allows you to request a statement that you can download and then print off.  Would this be sufficient?  Since everything is being scanned in black and white it will look just like a regular statement, except it's not, ha.

The order is:
- submit and pay for the online application
- register an account with UKVCAS (you should receive a code by email)
- when you are able to, book biometrics
- upload the documents at any point between registering with UKVCAS and your biometrics appointment... all the documents must be dated BEFORE your online application date though, so don't submit the application until you have all your documents ready.

I can't remember exactly but I think it's something like 120 days for FLR(M) applications?

If you did this, the printed statement would need to be taken into the bank branch and either stamped/signed by the bank on every page or accompanied by a letter from the bank confirming its authenticity.

Alternatively, instead of requesting a statement to download, you could just go into the bank (assuming it's open) and ask them to print you a partial statement which covers the dates from the end of your last issued statement up to today's date.
