Booking appointment with UKVCAS
« on: June 05, 2020, 11:29:39 AM »
So we've submitted and paid for the application, now's the time to book our appointment with UKVCAS.  Our nearest location is Newcastle, but when we are on their website and enter our post code, it's not showing that as an option.  I'm guessing that's because they still are closed, so what do we do in the meantime?  Just keep checking every day until it comes up as an option?  And in the meantime, will we be able to start scanning our documents, or will we have to wait until we have an appointment booked?

Thanks!
Applied from Sin City, USA
Submitted online priority spouse visa Nov 2nd
Biometrics appointment completed Nov 6th
Package mailed to Sheffield Nov 6th
Received in Sheffield & e-mail received Nov 8th
Decision e-mail received Dec 5th
Approved or denied?    Approved!  Received Dec 7th

Yep. All you can do is wait until it lets you book an appointment there - same as everyone else has been doing for the last 2 months.

They are only opening certain centres this week and only people who had an appointment booked before the centres closed are currently allowed to book appointments now,  so, it's just a matter of waiting your turn and booking it when you're allowed to... could be in the next few days, could be a few weeks.

This is what the guidance on the UKVCAS website says (https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/flash-message-detail?flashmessageId=74833):

Unfortunately, if you did not have an existing appointment, prior to the suspension of the service, you will not be able to book an appointment at this time. Please be assured that every customer is important to UKVCAS and we will be reviewing the new approach regularly to assess when we are able to open more appointments, more sites and bookings for all customers.

I believe there should be an option in your account details that allows you to start uploading now.
