You need either:

- Standard Service at a Department of Homeland Security support center $2115... if you DON’T plan to purchase the $796 Priority Visa for Settlement service

Or

- Settlement Priority $2911... if you DO plan to pay for the $796 Priority Visa for Settlement service

Great thanks for clarifying.

Im at the packages and individual services part. Do you recommend anything here that may help? I plan on uploading all my docs. The txt message service sounds helpful.

Thanks again

The two main things purchased are:
- priority visa for settlement for $796
And
- courier service (either round trip or return only) for $75 or $45

If you plan to upload your documents yourself, you don’t want to purchase the more expensive courier service ($125+) as it includes the scanning and means you have to mail all the documents to the scanning hub as well.

You can do the text message service if you like - I don’t really know how it works/what it’s like though.

Thanks for all your help on this.

The doc upload process was a bit fiddly. I'm sure they've designed that so you give up and go for the paid service.

I got an appointment for biometrics on 1st Feb. Is it usually 90 days from that date that you would get a decision?

Their processing standards times are that they aim to process:

- 95% of all settlement visa applications within 60 working days (12 weeks)
- 100% of all settlement visa applications within 120 working days (24 weeks)

If you purchase the settlement priority processing service (called Priority Visa for Settlement) for $796 on the VFS Global website, it should get your application processed in 30 working days, though it has been taking a bit longer recently because of Covid delays.

Is that from the date you submit your application and pay the fees or the date that you go to your appointment?

From this page:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/visa-decision-waiting-times-applications-outside-the-uk#if-you-want-to-join-family-in-the-uk

Quote
If you want to join family in the UK
You should get a decision within 12 weeks of attending your appointment at the visa application centre, where 1 week is 5 working days, if you are applying to settle in the UK as a:

- spouse, partner or family member of someone who has British citizenship or is settled in the UK

You may be able to get your visa faster or other services depending on what country you’re in - check with your visa application centre.

If you are applying as the dependent of another applicant, you will get your decision at the same time.

If you are applying for an EEA family permit or an EUSS family permit you will get a decision as soon as possible after attending your appointment at the visa application centre.

Got it thanks.

I have a doc uploading question. When you upload on the VFS website is it possible to choose a folder containing specific docs from my computer? Most stuff is self explanatory but when it comes to uploading my invoices (self employment evidence) I had to upload 100 docs one by one. Im not sure if that was the correct way to do it.
