Very important date for October fee increase! October 27th!!
« on: October 21, 2020, 08:24:09 AM »
Hi! I just wanted to share some direct info I got from my conversation with our MP in Edinburgh regarding the cut off date for the NHS fee increase It goes from £400 to £625 per year on October 27th.  If anyone is in my situation and can apply before then you will save quite a bit of money. I can apply myself in four days so we are frantically delaying bills to get in before this increase. Just wanted to share this if it helps anyone out there. Our MP, Chirstine Jardine is on the front line fighting Parlament on what is an unfair increase for us when we already pay taxes toward the NHS. She has been amazing keeping in contact with me on this issue! Best of luck to everyone! x

I put that in your other thread

The start date of 1 October was delayed, to add in that those on the Tier 2 (General) Health and Care visa, do not pay the Health Surcharge and neither do their dependants, backdated to end of March for those that would have qualified for this new visa.

Have you looked to see if you are one of the visa holders who can claim a Immigration Health Charge reimbursement every 6 months?

This rise was voted in by the House of Commons and the House of Lords. I couldn't find her name on UK parliament site of MPs that voted against this rise (the Noes). Did she vote?

She voted on another matter that same day, but nothing recorded here either about her voting on the increase for the Immigration Surcharge
