Spousal Visa - questions about application from former UK expat
« on: November 16, 2020, 04:29:20 AM »
Hi Everyone! It's great to meet you all here. I'm sorry if some of these questions have been asked before -- I tried reading through the posts but there are so many!

A little background (and why I'm posting this): I am American, and my husband is British. We currently live in California, where we've been for the past 3 years. We are hoping to emigrate back to the UK in Spring of 2021, Brexit and all!...

Seems straightforward, but what makes my situation more confusing is that I already lived in the UK! I lived there for about 8 years, under a wide variety of visas, including a former Spousal Visa. (I had wished I had known about this forum back when I lived there!). Beyond my initial student visa over 10 years ago, this is the first visa I've done whilst outside of the UK.

Where my questions lie are with the application itself. Some of the questions do NOT make sense to fill out if you've already lived in the UK. For example...

"How many times have you been to the UK in the last 10 years?" -- I mean, I lived there. How do I answer this questions when I was a resident?

"Have you ever been given medical treatment in the UK? Where did you go for your previous medical treatment in the UK?" --  Again, I lived in the UK for 8 years and moved about 8 times while living there. Each time I moved, I changed my local GP. I would see a GP for regular visits, as one normally does. But, are they really asking me to list every time I had a GP visit in 8 years of living in the UK? And list every GP I had while living there? Any advice on how to answer would be very appreciated!

Those are the main questions that are stumping me now. Any advice from a former expat who left and came back would be very appreciated! Thank you so much!
