Hi peeps.

Thanks to all of you who have made our transition to UK life, ever so bearable and even enjoyable at times .

I did have a quick Q. about how best to avoid getting shafted by landlords who feel they are entitiled to one's deposit, wether or not you leave the flat spotless when you vacate.

It seems a lot of greedy landlords have made the decision to keep your deposit, regardless.

Short of taking them to court..how could we best enter into an agreement where " normal wear and tear " and other unforseen circumstances will not be weighed against us when we vacate the property.

Any particular advice on the type of language we should include on the lease agreement is greatly appreciated .

Thanks a Mill.
Zu

Hi K.,

Check out the National Citizens' Advice Bureau website about the topic "Tenancy Agreements". You get some initial info there and you can also get free help at their local offices, you'll find one close to you at their site, too.
