Can someone please check my ILR documents?
« on: June 13, 2021, 04:10:02 PM »
Hi all,

I had a previous topic from a month ago, with extremely helpful replies! I passed my Life in UK test this week, and looking set to apply this week, as soon as I become eligible.   :)

1) Would someone mind looking at the documents, and telling me if these look appropriate? Have I missed anything or do any documents not count as 'official' ?  Thank you.

2) Those who have scanned them all at home - can I do this using my iphone? The scanner function (in notes) works pretty well (I've used for other professional documents including my IRS return and they accepted it), and my printer/scanner, is so old that it would be a nightmare to do them all there (unless I have no other choice). What have others done?

I know a few people here on the forum have used their phones to scan so it should be fine... you just need to make sure the scanned files meet the specifications in the UKVCAS FAQs.

Regarding your documents, I’ve just made a few comments, but everything I haven’t mentioned looks fine:

Proof of ID and travel history:
- U.K. sponsor’s Passport + expired one

You don’t need the sponsor’s expired passport, just their current one.

Residence in the UK
- Land registry document (does it matter when this was purchased, or printed? I think I have it from when we bought the house in 2016?)
- Proof of purchase of house from solicitor.
- Mortgage statement from June 2021
- Latest Council Tax Bill from March 2021 (only sent 1x a year)

You can either use the original Land Registry or pay £3 to download a new one... doesn’t matter.

You don’t need the proof of purchase from the solicitor.

1) yes, as long as you have at least 2 other sources, you can use as many bank statements as you like from as many banks as you like... they only count as 1 source though

2) I would think you could use a vet bill

However, you have too many items from some months and not enough from other months.

I would use:
Dec 2018:
1. Joint: Bank statement with both names (Source 1)

May 2019
2. joint: Bank statement with both names

October 2019
3. husband: payslip (Source 2)
3. You: ? - missing document

March 2020
4. Joint: council tax statement in both names (Source 3)

August 2020
5. Husband: Veterinarian bill in husband name
5. You: ? - missing document

January 2021
6. Husband: Bank statement (diff bank)
6. You: ? - missing document

June 2021
7. Joint: Bank statement

Do you have anything at all in your name for October 2019, August 2020 and January 2021?

Bank statements, payslips, NHS letters... anything at all?

If not, you will need to write a letter explaining why not.

Thank you!  Very helpful advice!  Trying to track down the missing bits, some questions below...

October 2019
3. husband: payslip (Source 2)
3. You: ? - missing document.    (Still missing, I may need to write a letter explaining this one)

August 2020
5. Husband: Veterinarian bill in husband name
5. You: ? - missing document.  (Could I use a payslip here from my work place????)

January 2021
6. Husband: Bank statement (diff bank)
6. You: ? - missing document.   (Could I use an online bank (my sole account - Monzo) statement downloaded, or no?)

August 2020
5. Husband: Veterinarian bill in husband name
5. You: ? - missing document.  (Could I use a payslip here from my work place????)

Yes, as long as it’s a physical payslip either handed to or mailed to you in the month it was issued.

Online payslips won’t be suitable.

No, as it has to be an item of mail delivered to your house in the month that it was issued... to show you were physically living in the house in that month in order to have received it in person.

The good news is that we found some of the missing documentation. The bad news is we are now missing 1 document in my husband's name (I thought one payslip was dated a diff. date). I have something in my husband's name for the month after, while I have something in my name for the month in question. I assume if I address this in the letter, they may accept it?

Second quick question I think I forgot to ask:  do we have to submit a log of all 5 years absences from the UK? Or is that done via the stamps in our passport?

Thank you!
