BRP name change
« on: March 14, 2021, 02:34:27 PM »
Hi,

Hope everyone is well.

I had a question about changing my name on the BRP.

I renewed my passport on my married name , however the BRP is on my maiden name.

I couldn't find much online on how to do this. However, it looks like a need to apply for a new BRP and do biometrics again, is this correct ?

It is showing a fee of £181 and is asking for proof of address, declaration signed my me,  change of name (marriage certificate) and passport.

Does this seem like I'm doing the correct method ?

Thank you

Correct.  Takes a good six months to process as well.

Yes, that's correct.

I assume so.

If your current visa is FLR(M), it costs £161 for the BRP application... though if you're saying it's showing £181, then I assume they are also charging the normal £19.20 for biometrics as well, which would make it £180.20 in total.

The instructions are here:
https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence-permits/replace-visa-brp

And the online application is here:

Thank you all for your help... Yeah sorry my mistake it says you are paying £180.20 for application for TOC.

Once I paid, I had to book an appointment. The soonest available date was 10th April. There was a fee of £188 just to book this service.

It asked if I wanted to pay extra for other services like document check and scanning ?

I opted out but it said I can go back and purchase.
Do I need this or is it quite straight forward ?

Thanks
