To answer your question
No, I have not completed a self assessment for a US individual on a remittance basis while in the UK.
Your choice to pick your reason for why this is the case, two options:
1. I have no idea what I’m talking about and therefore my opinion isn’t qualified
2. My USC employees physically based in the UK are unable to meet the criteria for a non-domiciled path
If I’m honest, I wish this was the kind of stuff I was dealing with. If I told you the complexities I have with international business you’d realise why this is FAR more effort than it’s worth. And I am TIGHT. I hate paying the tax man. I hate paying for parking. I can go on for days. Trust me, I’m always looking for ways to save. This is not the hill I have chosen to die on.
My takeaway: Dubai would be a desirable location for you to work and only incur US tax.
