I'm concerned over the cohabitation bits as we can't get the ideal months to match up just because we don't get statements in time from some companies (Council Tax = Annual, Water = 6 monthly etc) so any tips?  I will happily write a letter explaining this, I am just not sure how strict it is, I've hopefully listed too much stuff so perhaps you'll tell me to take stuff out, but I thought it may be better to have too much rather than too little?

Definitely don’t send too much - no more than 7 documents in each name should be included. If you are missing any documents or they are not evenly spaced, you just have to write a letter of explanation for why not.

Just going to rearrange your documents into the correct upload sections.

Proof of Application:
- Applicant’s passport all pages
- Part 1 and Part 2 signed consent forms only (part 3 does not apply to you as you are not allowed to use third party financial support)

- Spouse Declaration

Proof of Identity/Travel History:
- Sponsor passport, all pages
- Applicant's BRP (Both sides)

Residence in the UK
Accommodation
- Mortgage statement for past 7 months
- Land Registry Title
- Most recent council tax bill (3 March)  Cohabitation proof
June 2019 - Joint Water Bill
Oct 2019 - Applicant's Car insurance certificate and sponsors home insurance docs
March 2020 - Joint Council Tax (Dated 3rd March, I realise we don't have anything in Feb, is this an issue?) - you just need to explain in a letter why you don’t have anything for Feb and that you are including March instead
June 2020 - Joint Water Bill
Oct 2020 - Joint Gas/Electricity Bill
March 2021 - Joint Council Tax (Dated 3rd March, I realise we don't have anything in Feb, is this an issue?)  - you just need to explain in a letter why you don’t have anything for Feb and that you are including March instead
June 2021 - Joint Water Bill

Finances:
- Sponsors 6 months original bank statements (1st Dec till the day before the application)
- Employment contract
- P60
- Payslips from Dec 2020 till June 2021
- Proof of employment, letter from company with the salary etc.

Other/Optional not sure of the exact name of the section)
- Marriage Cert

The following sections you leave blank as they are not needed:
- Educational
- Proof of business
- Life Events
- Medical Information
- Sponsors/Employment

Any advice or comments are welcomed, as would be teh content of a cover letter if you suggest we do it for the cohabitation proof.  Also, my wife has literally just got a job, a couple of weeks ago.  We have a signed employment contract for her, is it worth including this anywhere?  We dont' need the money to qualify as my salary covers it.

No, you don’t need it as you meet the requirement using your income and including hers will make the application document complicated.

That's perfect thanks a lot, I've just rearranged the documents as you suggested and will pop a covernote on now.  Do I just upload the covernote/explanation of Council Tax dates into the "Other" section as a PDF?

BTW - How the heck do you type that entire reply and format it on your phone :)

I think it’s normally uploaded to the Residence in the UK section along with your cohabitation documents.

I’m just used to typing out the formatting code :P.

It takes longer than using my laptop but I normally use the internet on my phone rather than my laptop when I’m overseas (plus I’m at work atm).

Not much to add, but the documents have been uploaded and then submitted.  Biometrics are booked for Saturday afternoon and then the nervous wait begins.  Thanks so much to ksand24 for your help.  I'll update here with any news.  Finger crossed.

LarraBee, ksand24, we owe you a huge amount of thanks.  Wife just received an email saying that her applicaiton was sucessful and a BRP should be here within 10 days.  Elated is an understatement, what great news.

We bought the Life In The UK Books a couple of weeks back so she's reading those as I believe the next application, the ILR (and then teh citizenship) both require the test to have been passed.

My wife's first FLR (Switching from a marriage visa) was valid from 10th Jan 2019.  The email we just received says that the new one is valid till 7 March 2024.  So if my maths works out, we can apply for ILR from 10th Jan 2024 until 7 March 2024?  The only stipulation is on teh exact date that we submit the application, she must have been in the UK on that exact day 5 years previous?  Any other things to consider such as time out of the UK, although I don't think that'll be an issue as we only take "normal" holidayts abroad for a week or two at a time.

We're both so pleased!  Meal out to celebrate tonight and your help is invaluable, thanks.

Yes, that’s correct.

No, that’s not quite right... you’re mixing up the ILR and citizenship application date requirements a bit there.

For ILR, she can apply up to 28 days before she reaches 5 years on FLR(M), so if her first FLR was valid from January 10th 2018, she can actually apply for ILR as early as 13th December 2023.

So she can submit her online ILR application on any date between 13th Dec 2023 and 7th March 2024.

Then once she has received her ILR she can apply for citizenship at any time, providing she meets the following residency requirements:
- she was physically in the UK exactly 3 years prior to the date she submits the citizenship application
And
- she has not been outside the U.K. for more than 270 days in those 3 years with no more than 90 of the days in the final 12 months before applying. When calculating the days outside the UK you do not count the day she left or the day she returned to the U.K. (so if she left on Mon and returned on Fri, that’s only 3 days outside the U.K.).

Helpful as ever and perfectly clear.  Understand fully now.  All of those things should be a doddle :)

Such a relief seeing that email today, can't thank you all enough :)
