Partner’s Passport expired 2 weeks before visa renewal

I know I know. I’m not pleased. I looked at him at 4am and asked if his passport was current and he said no, and I’m pretty furious because he should have known.

My visa renewal is due on September 5. His options are to go to Liverpool and do it in one week (though I’m having surgery the day it’s open) or to go to Belfast and get it that day.
 
I was applying for my visa and it says you can use your partner’s birth certificate and an official document stating they’ve lived here 3 years or more. What kind of document would that be? An official letter from our landlord?

My partner was a victim of identity theft & through Action Fraud advice, contacted the HO who cancelled the passport.

I had my IRL appt yesterday.  For their passport requirement we submitted the below:

Short personal letter explaining why there wasn't a passport.
Email response from Action Fraud with reference number
Email Response from HO showing when/why passport had been cancelled & their reference number
Personal Birth Certificate
Personal Drivers Licence (front & back)
Personal 2020 P60 version  which shows both their  National Insurance Number & Income Tax Coding  (2021 version was included with their employment paperwork & we didn't want to confuse anything by including this year's twice)

The HO says they want the birth cert & at least 1 other proof item.  They give a short list of what else is considered valid but I can't remember what they were.

Ack, how stressful!

Thank you! We provided his birth certificate, expired passport, payslips (required anyway) and driver's license. Crossing my fingers that suffices.
