FLR 2nd extension help
« Reply #30 on: November 05, 2021, 10:41:04 PM »
Thanks for that! Do you know if it's a thing to start filling in at midnight or something? Not sure if spots are released at this time or if it really doesn't make a different at what time to start your application?

You can start your application whenever you like - you can just keep saving it until you are ready to submit it… so you can have it all completed and then when you’re ready to submit it, just keep checking to see if the Super Priority service is available.

It may take you a few days to fill it all out correctly so don’t leave it until the last minute.

I’m not sure exactly when they refresh the available slots - hopefully someone who has done it recently can help.

Ah, I went to the NationWide bank today to get the bank statements ready (just a reminder we are doing the savings route here) and turns out they have given us a different bank statement to what I was expecting. They gave us one big statement (3 pages in total) covering May 5th to November 5th (we plan on applying on Nov 15th in a few days with May to October statements.

However, as previously mentioned, our bank statements are issued on the 29th of each month and this one long statement doesn't really show the 29th of each month because they are only showing the changes in balance covering May 5th till November 5th...

As long as the start and end date of the statement covers the beginning and end of a full 6-month period, it doesn’t matter if they don’t specifically show the 29th of each month. In fact, it doesn’t even matter what date it starts and ends on, as long as the end date is not more than 28 days before the date you submit the online application… what’s important is that the period that the long statement covers all the way back to the first day of the 6 months.

So, the May 5th to November 5th statement is exactly what you need, because it covers every single day of the full 6 months required… so there’s no issue.

Which means that the 6 months you will be relying on is actually going to be 5th May to 5th November, instead of 29th April to 29th October.

Awesome, many thanks for that! Lastly, I remember writing an initial letter explaining relationship etc etc is this needed now? Or just the docs on the list?

Tomorrow is the big day, hopefully we get to have an answer by Wednesday!

No, you don't need a sponsor letter explaining the relationship this time, though if there is anything important you need to explain about the application, such as missing documents, or non-evenly-spaced cohabitation evidence, you can include a cover letter for that.

Just thought I'd come back and say that I have applied last night. Turns out no super priority service was available so I waited until midnight and new spots showed up - maybe there is a correlation there!

Uploaded my docs on the UKCVAS website and got a biometric appointment for the 29th and I also had to pay for this appointment (argh!). I suppose I am only receiving an answer regarding the approval after my biometrics even though I paid for the 24 super priority service?

That is correct.  Your application doesn't go to Home Office 'til after Biometrics.  From that appointment, everything will be forwarded and a decision will hopefully be made swiftly.  (They do seem pretty good about the within 24-hour turnaround these days, but it's not guaranteed.)
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

Unfortunately free appointments are almost impossible to get these days, and if you did manage get a free one, you’d probably have to wait several weeks for it.

Yes… it’s 24 hours from your appointment, though actually, they say it’ll be by the end of the next working day, rather than specifically 24 hours.

Quite a few people have received their approval email within about 5 or 6 hours of their appointment though.

Yeah I do remember having an appointment at 8am 2.5 years ago and by the time I made it home at 11 I had already received my approval through email so I'm not worried at all now :p

Just wished we had more places to go in London...it's basically only in Croydon I think which isn't that convenient but oh well!

I will let yall know how it went on the 29th then!

Hey guys - thought I'd check back in and say that my visa has been approved! Very happy to only have to deal with visas again only around summer 2024 (it will be time for IRL!)

As previously mentioned, I had to wait 10-11 days since the day I applied online to get to my biometrics appointment date, which was this morning at 8am. Super quick service literally stayed in the building for 5 minutes. Someone scanned my passaport, took fingerprints and photos and done.

I opted to pay for the super priority service and have just now (4:40pm) received an update email confirming my application has been successful.

I should thank yall for being so amazing at replying and giving great advice!  :) :) :) :) :) :)
