Citizenship Evidence Confirmation
« on: February 24, 2022, 09:12:07 AM »
Hi all,

Sorry to spam the forum but I'd love some confirmation of evidence submission.

Here it is and bracketed are the categories they are submitted under

- Current Passport (Proof of Application)
- Expired Passport (Residence in the UK)
- BRP (Residence in the UK)
- Spouse Passport (Sponsors/Employment)
- Home Office Consent Form (Other)
- Birth Certificate (Other) (this is for proof of middle name which was initialled in previous passport)
- Cover Letter (Other)
- Marriage Certificate (Life Events)
- 1st Referee (Sponsors/Employment)
- 2nd Referee (Sponsors/Employment)

Have I missed anything or are there better categories to put certain evidence?

Thanks everyone

Is Life in the UK test required? It's not in my application checklist. See below

- The passport issued by United States of America
- Proof of living in the UK  for 5 years if applying in your own right or 3 years if applying as the spouse of a British Citizen
- Your marriage or civil partnership certificate
- Proof of freedom from immigration time restrictions
- The United States of America passport, identity card or official letter to prove the level of English language required
- Two referee declarations
- One proof of British citizenship for spouse
- Current Biometric Residence Permit

Yes, the Life in the UK test is absolutely required.

If it was taken after December 2019, instead of a pass certificate, your wife will have received a unique reference number which must be entered into the online application.

From the Life in the U.K. test webpage on the gov.uk site:

If you pass the test

You must score 75% or more to pass the test.

You’ll get a ‘unique reference number’. You’ll need this number to complete your citizenship or settlement application. The Home Office will use it to check that you’ve passed.

If you took your test before 17 December 2019, you’ll have a letter with a ‘test reference ID’ instead of a unique reference number.

If you have lost your letter, send a letter explaining that you have lost it with your citizenship or settlement application.

Thanks ksand, I've included it and uploaded it.

Interestingly, we got an email regarding our appointment on Saturday and they've requested we do NOT bring our supporting evidence unless using their upload services. Naturally, we're bringing it all anyway.
