Family Route document check
« on: March 01, 2022, 08:51:44 PM »
Alright,

About to submit my Spousal Visa Renewal and want to make sure I've got all my documents in order before I submit the online application

Things that are listed that I need and have provided are:

FROM ME:

My Passport
My Biometrics Residence Permit
Marriage Certificate
Proof of registration with HMRC as Self Employed
evidence of tax paid
tax return for last year
statement of account
My UTR
Bank Statements for the last 12 months
Evidence of ongoing self employment
Annual audited accounts
Payslips
Letters from employers confirming employment/employment period/gross annual salary/type of employment
My newborn daughter's birth certificate proving she's a british citizen

REGARDING MY HUSBAND/FAMILY:

Divorce decree from husband's first marriage
His daughter's birth certificate
His daughter's mother's utility bill  proving address
A letter signed by the mother proving my access to her daughter
Evidence my Husband is UK citizen (I have his passport scanned from the last application, would that do?)
Utility Bill in his name proving his address

FROM BOTH OF US OR JOINTLY ADDRESSED:

Items of correspondence for the last 2 years
Lease agreement
Council tax bill

MISCELLANEOUS

Signed family consent forms (they had me print out two, but I can't remember who has to sign them

Am I correct that I do NOT need my husband's financial information or letter from employer stating his salary? I make just above threshold over the last year which can be proven through my bank statements/invoices, but I worry I'm getting it wrong.

ALSO, it says I should get my decision within 8 weeks for the renewal - is this pretty accurate, as I have to have my passport returned by early May as I must return to the states for a wedding! I would prefer not to have to pay for expedited, but I will if I have to

All help is VERY much appreciated!!!

Does your husband meet the threshold from his employment alone?
Most people avoid using self employment income unless there is no other option as it's much more complicated to prove.

yes he does...

I have bank statements and invoices that prove i made enough, but only this past year. so do i need a letter from my husband's boss confirming employment/salary/payslips/bank statements for the past 2.5 years?
