US passport renewals turnaround time London embassy

Perhaps foolishly, I've booked us to go to the US at the end of August. However, 2 of our 4 US passports are expired. These are for the kids (and mine). Does anyone have any recent experience with how long it takes to get kids passport renewals back from the embassy in London.

4-6 weeks.

However, will likely be sooner.

I can keep you posted.  We have appointments for myself and our kids on April 11th.  A friend got theirs back yesterday after about 2 weeks.  It's always quick and the timeline for how long it will take on the embassy website is always accurate and up to date.

I renewed mine at the end of January when we applied for our son's first passport. It took about 3 weeks.

Thanks, everyone. As always, the issue is always actually getting an appointment. I'll get on the Telegram thingy. If my calculations are correct, maybe this will be the last child passport for my eldest daughter, which means no need to go to the embassy for her renewals (or am I kidding myself). Woot!

3 weeks. Done in January

I just found an appointment for my boy to get his passport renewed in May.  They must have just released a few as it looks like there's several over a few days.  If you are looking for one, go get it now.

We went on the 11th and haven't had them back yet.  We were told it would be 3 weeks, so likely accurate.  It's the British one that I'm worried about (for my 5 year old) as those are a minimum of 10 weeks.  Eeeks!

Very envious of your last trip to the embassy!  I look forward to that day! 

The passport renewal turnaround time seems fairly quick. I posted my application and old passport to the Embassy on April 6 and got my new passport back on 30 April.

I applied for my son's UK passport the same day we had his US embassy appointment- 31st January. I am still waiting for his UK passport...
