FLR IHS issues

Evening,

We're currently applying for my husbands FLR (M) visa and have completed everything. We're on the IHS page but it's trying to charge us for 2.5 years. When we initially applied for the visa in 2019, we had to pay 3 years of IHS as they didn't do half years (so this time should be paying the remaining 2 years. So basically it's trying to overcharge us by half a year. Does anyone know if there is a way around this? I'm sure I could find the original IHS receipt for them if they needed it, but it just has a button to pay, not a way to contact them.

Have a look at the initial visa issue and expiry dates. It should have been for 33 months (to allow time to move) and therefore was rounded up to 3 years for IHS.

In other words, I haven’t heard of anyone getting a refund for IHS except when an exempt profession or switching categories (for example work visa to spouse visa) and more than 6 months before expiry date of previous visa.

You’ve been charged the correct amount, because you have to pay for the length of time the visa is valid for, and FLR is valid for 30 months (2.5 years), so you have to pay for 2.5 years of IHS.

However, they only calculate the IHS amount in half-year increments, so because his initial spousal visa was valid for 2 years and 9 months (33 months), the IHS amount you had to pay for that one was rounded up to 3 years.
