Scanning Service
« on: August 25, 2022, 01:49:03 AM »
Hi Everyone,

Thanks so much for the 1 am advice. I was able to book super premium and have already booked my appointment for the 14th of September. I could have gotten one the week of the 8th but it wasnt a free one.

I paid extra for the document scanning service. Has anyone used it before? What should I expect? Also one thing is I wont have my husband's passport, I will only have a copy of the picture page due to the fact he will be traveling. Is that ok?

I used scanning service and had all my documents categorised an order that made sense to me, with post its labelling each. The lady was very appreciative! She scanned them in (I was not impressed with their scanner actually it jammed a few times and stuff 😆) but she was careful to make sure everything went through. She chose all the categories on her own on where to upload and I was grateful for that…I had some “extra” documents that weren’t required but have heard from here and other pages are good to have (kids’ stuff mostly) - she seemed happy to scan whatever I wanted her to. It took about 20 extra minutes…felt like I had an extra layer of insurance with someone else doing it who knew where to put it etc.

She did explain for some of my mail and my lease she was going to do just first and last pages bc that’s all they need and I was ok with it. Also said she did not need my prior passports bc I entered uk on my current one 5 years ago so that was all that was needed. As for your husband passport I’m sure that’s fine….if you weren’t doing scanning service they’d never know if it was a scan of the original document or document itself…seems fine!

Good luck! Hope that novel helps 😆

This is super helpful and great advice Jess!

I’d NEVER recommend self scanning only certain pages of documents but perfectly okay if done “them”.

I think the passport copy will be fine.  You can always have your husband write a letter saying he’s travelling and his actual passport is with him.
