Hi all
Really pleased to log on to see a few other ILR applications having success (and relatively quickly!) Fingers crossed here.
As always, just looking for someone to cast an extra set of eyes over my checklist so I'm not forgetting anything. I can't wait to never have to do this again!!!
My first partner visa was granted on 30th October 2017, then I applied for my second in May 2020 but Covid delays meant it wasn't granted until 9th October 2020. So by my maths, I'm now within the window of no sooner than 28 days before 5 years even though I've got quite a lot of time left on my partner visa.
My checklist is:
- My current passport
- My 2 x previous passports
- Signed sponsor declaration (within the online application)
- Life in the UK test (booked to take this on Saturday 15th October)
- My husband's passport
- My current BRP
- 7 months of payslips September 2022 going back to March 2022
- 7 months of bank statements showing said wages being paid
- Employer letter confirming employment status, start date, contract type and gross salary
* Question regarding this ... I've just in the last 2-3 weeks changed my name from my maiden name to my married name. I've kept my maiden name at work so my payslips & the letter from HR still show as my maiden name. Hoping this won't be an issue?
- Also my latest P60 just for good measure
- Marriage certificate
- Letter addressed to both my husband and I from our Mortgage lender - it's a notification of first payment letter
- Most recent council tax bill dated 6/3/2022 to me and my husband
Evidence of cohabitation:
April 2020 : Me - a bank letter 7/4/2020 Husband - a bank letter dated 8/4/2020
September 2020: Joint bank account statement addressed to us both
February 2021 : Electoral register letter addressed to both of us
August 2021: Mortgage offer letter addressed to both of us
January 2022: Council tax bill addressed to both of us
May 2022: Joint bank account statement both names on
October 2022: Joint bank account statement both names on
*I ideally would have also used one of our utility bills just to give more of a range of sources of evidence, but when I've gone online to download them I've noticed there's actually an error in our address on the statements!!! Don't want to risk that being an issue or source of confusion so just avoiding them all together.
Last question ( for now ...) on the online application form I've indicated that my name has changed on my passport as I just applied to change to my married name a few weeks ago. It asks a question about if I've legally changed my name and if so , on what date?
Does anyone know what they are meaning there? Do they want the date my passport was issued in my new name? My marriage date (which was a year ago now)?
I've been in the process of changing my name for ages now and it's just been a bit of a gradual process updating different agencies etc...so I'm not sure what I'd give as the date I "legally" changed my name.
Thanks in advance
