gonna move home soon, and have my baby there..BUT....
« on: January 17, 2005, 12:59:37 AM »
Will my baby still be eligible for british citizenship if we report the birth to the UK just like has to be done with the USA???????
We were just discussing this the other day, because our move is becoming so much nearer the time, and someone raised a flag with me about this particular aspect....
I know if we report the birth from here to the usa then the baby gets all the benefits of US citizenship, but does it work the other way around as well?
I've surfed the threads, and either I'm blind or I'm overlooking...so I figured stuff it, I'm asking :)
any advice or direction much appreciated  thanks!!!
Wife to Karl, mother of 3
back in the USA to stay

Yes, your baby will still be entitled to  UK citizenship by descent:
