Citizenship Verification Form

Hello

I was tootling through the forum and saw a post for the Citizenship Verification form which I didn't include in my application.   I did receive an email stating that all my supporting documents had been submitted to UKVI on the 11 October 2022.

So my question is will they contact me via email or post to submit this.  Email would be better as I have not seen any post for about 2 weeks.

I’ve never heard of a citizenship verification form… so it is not something you need for a U.K. citizenship application.

I did a Google search and the only things that came up were:

- a US form to verify someone’s identity when applying for a job

- a form to verify identity when applying to transfer a U.K. property into someone else’s name with the Land Registry (which my mum had to complete recently in order to transfer ownership of her house and my late grandmother’s house into her name only after my dad died a few months ago).

I also did a search on this forum and the only results that came up were referring to the ‘Consent to Verification Checks’ forms which are filled out as part of the online application for FLR and ILR visas.

Not sure if they are part of the citizenship application form or not, though.

It is from this post that I started to get concerned.   But I think this would be for bank accounts or ownership of a house which is not required for citizenship.

That’s the Consent to Verification Checks form I mentioned above. If it’s required, you should have been prompted to complete it as part of the online application.

It’s just a form you sign to say you give consent for UKVI to verify the information you have provided with the application.

Part 1 is the applicant’s consent
Part 2 is the sponsor’s/spouse’s consent, if they are jointly named on any documents you have provided
Part 3 is not relevant as it’s for a third party financial sponsor.

If you did not include it and they need it, they should contact you by email to ask for it.

Will continue to have positive thoughts until I receive some sort of email from UKVI...hopefully it won't be too much longer for a decision...
