Good evening all
It's finally ILR (SET-M) time! My 5 years in the U.K. arrives in a few days, and whilst we could have applied 28 days prior to that date, with the holidays and delays in getting some documents signed, we are waiting until January. I only have a few questions.
In the last applications (original spouse visa application, and renewal) we relied on income using payslips, P-60s, letter from employer, and corresponding bank statements.
This year we are in a fortunate position to have savings substantial enough to apply via that route and it has been held for over 6 months above the minimum required (we still both work and earn above the minimum income requirement). I have heard in the past the savings route is the easiest (I expect this is due to the lesser amount of paperwork needed, and thankfully no need to get his employer or mine to sign anything!).
Since ILR is a tick-box exercise, I assume Home Office doesn't give a hoot whether we are working and just care we meet some kind of financial requirement.
Questions1. Is savings the easiest and best route to go if we can, even though we meet financials through other routes?
2. Is this entire list redundant now? P-60, letter from employer, 7 months payslips, 7 months corresponding bank statements, contract
3. What do we need to provide instead? I assume 7 months bank statements where the money is held (his account), and a declaration of the source of funds?
4. The last two visas really did a number on my stress levels, so we are going to try for Priority or Super Priority this time. What is the process? I know the slots are released at midnight or 1:00am? How can I confirm that I am only applying when I can select SP? Do I wait until midnight or 1am to submit my application and hope the slot is open, or will I have a chance once I submit to see appointments and try again another day before I pay?
I really appreciate the help! Thanks to the great responses from previous applications I've had on here, I am set for everything else
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!!
