citizenship application
« on: January 12, 2023, 05:57:14 PM »
Hello,

I have two questions RE citizenship applications:

1) The referees declaration form says write the applicants DOB and full name on the back of a passport photo and then glue it to the paper. Are you really supposed to do that? What's the point of writing on the back if it won't be seen when scanned?

2) Another thread mentions a family consent form that needs to be submitted with your evidence, but that's not on the document checklist and isn't linked as part of the application process, am I missing something or is that not for all applicants?

Thank you!

1) I think it's for if it detaches and becomes lost they can easily give it back to the correct application. So yes, ensure you do that.

2) When my wife (the USC) applied for her citizenship I don't recall anything like this at all. Where have you read that specifically?
Feb 2014 - Married
29/04/2014 - Spouse Application Approved
02/05/2014 - Visa Received
09/01/2017 - FLR(M) Granted
22/07/2019 - ILR Granted
05/05/2022 - Citizenship

Ah, I thought the name and DOB was part of the referees verifying your identity (like what happens for child passports). My documents are being scanned, rather than posted, hence why I was confused about the process.

There was a thread started in august called Citizenship Application Procedure after ILR SET(M) - Reference Doc https://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=100371.msg1322557#msg1322557 which list the consent form. I wasn't too worried about it.

Thank you!
