Can someone confirm if when providing evidence of living together via correspondence and documents received at the same address, is it for the last 2 years or 2.5 years as we moved in March 2021, therefore do we need to provide correspondence for the 6 months prior to March 2021 too?

For ILR, you have to provide correspondence covering the entire period since your last FLR(M) was granted - so for most people this will be 2.5 years. We normally recommend covering the whole 2.5 years, even if it hasn't been that long since you got your FLR(M), as I have a feeling the document list asks for 2.5 years anyway.

It doesn't matter how many addresses you have lived at in those 2.5 years, as long as you have both lived at the same address as each other for the whole time. You just work out which months you need documents for (every 5 months) and then provide mail from whichever address you were living at in that month.

I see from your previous posts that your FLR(M) was granted In September 2020, so you will need to provide mail from the following months:
Old Address:
September 2020
February 2021
Current Address:
July 2021
December 2021
May 2022
October 2022
March 2023

Thanks KSand,
That makes sense, I was just curious purely because everyone seems to suggesting it’s 2 years and not 2 and a half but thank you for clarifying :-( (As always!)

Submitting in a day or so, fingers crossed for super priority!

The application form should tell you how far back you need to cover.

The FLR(M) form asks for a maximum of 2 years of cohabitation evidence.

The ILR form asks for cohabitation evidence going back to the beginning of ‘your last grant of leave’.

If we don’t have enough joint Mail, how many pieces per month individually would you recommend? 3 per month from different sources? So that would be 6 in total per month below addressed to each of us individually?

Sep 2020 - 3 x her 3 x me?

February 2021- 3 x her 3 x me?

July 2021 - 3 x her 3 x me?

December 2021 - 3 x her 3 x me?

May 2022 - 3 x her 3 x me?

October 2022 - 3 x her 3 x me?

March 2023 - 3 x her 3 x me?

If you don't have joint mail, you just need one piece in each name instead. Each name needs to appear once in each time slot, it doesn't matter if it's one joint piece or one individual piece each. Joint is not better in other words.

As larrabee said, you only need 1 piece of mail in each name per month… so that’s either 1 joint item or 1 item each (2 items total) per month. They should be from at least 3 different sources between you.

So it would be:

Sep 2020
- 1 joint
OR
- 1 x her and 1 x you

Feb 2021
- 1 joint
OR
- 1 x her and 1 x you

July 2021
- 1 joint
OR
- 1 x her and 1 x you

December 2021
- 1 joint
OR
- 1 x her and 1 x you

May 2022
- 1 joint
OR
- 1 x her and 1 x you

October 2022
- 1 joint
OR
- 1 x her and 1 x you

March 2023
- 1 joint
OR
- 1 x her and 1 x you
