time spent out of the country query (for FLR(M))
« on: June 19, 2023, 06:46:23 PM »
Hello all,

I'm coming up to my FLR(M) in March 2024.

I work remotely (for a UK company), so we bought a motorhome this year and are currently spending about 2.5 months exploring the Republic of Ireland.

We are also hoping to spend a couple of months in France around Christmas this year, though not if it's going to jeopardize my visa application

These are the only times I have left the UK since I arrived.

I understand that they ask about dates of foreign travel on the application.  Is that correct?  I am concerned that spending a total of 5-6 months out of the country leading up to my Visa renewal might be problematic.

Can anyone advise?

I'd be very interested in the answer to this question as well if someone could assist.

My wife arrived on a spousal visa last week and like the OP I was wondering exactly what you have to specify on the application form for FLR(M).

Do you need to list all the dates you were out of the country and give reasons for any travel that resulted in you being apart?

Hopefully a few weeks apart, a couple of times, a year should not be an issue? My wife would like to go back and visit friends and family without having to drag me along.
