FLR(M) renewal - which dates for mail?
« on: September 21, 2023, 04:48:41 PM »
Hi everyone,

Dipping back in after a couple of years as it's time for my FLR(M) renewal already!

Last time I did my application, I was switching from the 6-month fiance visa so I didn't have to do the regular '6 pieces of mail over the 2.5 year span' evidence - but now I've obviously got that backlog of mail to pick from.

My BRP card was issued on the 17th of May 2021, and expires the 6th of November this year - I'm planning to apply around the 9th or 10th of October as we've got a trip planned later this winter and the sooner I can get it in, the better!

For the proof of cohabitation evidence, is it better to start from May of 2021, when the BRP was issued, and do every 4 months from there? Or should I calculate every 4 months back from October, when I'll actually be renewing it?

(Or third option, does it not even matter!)

Thanks all, this forum continues to be an absolute godsend for help.

For FLR, they ask for 2 years worth of mail, it's 2.5 years worth for ILR.

What works nicely is one joint equivalent piece of mail every four months x 7, instead of the required 6.

I'd start 2 years before the application date, roughly.
