ILR - Home Office Requesting More Info.
« on: January 22, 2024, 05:49:16 PM »
Hi,

I'm super stressed out. I had my biometrics appointment today and heard back from the Home Office saying they needs more info.

I applied using cash savings and sent in two bank statements covering 6 months. My husband doesnt use his savings account much, so he doesn’t have any transactions for Sep, Oct and Nov.

They're asking for individual monthly statements, or to get a letter from Lloyds stating monthly transactions cant be shown if none have been made or that the funds never dropped below the required amount between Sep, Oct and Nov.

Has anyone had any experience asking their bank for additional information? Were they helpful?
When they ask for additional information, is that usually a bad sign?

It's a good sign when they ask for additional information. It means they want to grant the visa but they can't because you didn't provide everything they need to tick all the boxes.

What were the date ranges for the statements you provided?

Okay, thanks for the reassurance!

The statements are 9 Jun - 8 Aug  (shows transactions for every month) and 9 Aug - 28 Dec (shows transactions made in Aug and Dec only)

Presuming the running balances are shown then it looks like you did provide enough information, however, we do always recommend just sending them exactly what they ask for, no matter how unreasonable it seems.

In your position I would try very hard to have Lloyds provide a letter stating that the account balance did not fall below x between dates y and z. I would also see if they can send you statements by month. When you go online is there the facility to see monthly statements?

I tried getting the statements online, but they just give me the same statements I already have.

I did get a chance to call the bank today and they said theyre unable to do monthly statements :/ I still plan to ask when I go to the bank tomorrow, if they cant do the statements I'll definitely get a letter from them.

We had a similar experience on a different visa. We went to the bank and got a letter explaining that monthly statements were not available and that the balance had been unchanged for over six months. The visa was approved.

Yes we are hitting this situation right now (I'm planning on applying this Sunday morning for ILR) We are using the savings route as well and realised my husbands bank statements only come once year or if money has been put in so we are stuck for actual statements within our six month window.

We were able to get a "transactions statement" from online banking (it's Santander) where it shows on a PDF money coming in and no money leaving monthly for every month back 6 months. It's not from the statements and documents section because our paper statements are yearly and the next isn't until the 3rd of feb and I would feel more comfortable applying at my earliest date which is the 28th of this month.

We're planning on going to the bank today and getting the letter stating it didn't drop below that amount from 6 months ago until now.

I had the pdf with all the transactions for every month from 6 months as well, but I only sent the statements I got in the mail because I thought that would be enough.

The bank was super helpful writting the letter for me, but even they were surprised that the statements werent enough proof.

I'll update this thread as soon as I hear back from the Home Office

Does anyone how long it can take to hear back after sending over the additional information?

Will it be any quicker since I paid for super priority?

When I had some serious issues after applying super priority, it took about 5 days each time for them to review the additional information. But thankfully it doesn't end up at the bottom of the pile making you wait up to 6 months. I'd call if you don't hear anything early next week.
