Applying for Child's First Passport (Please help)

I'll be applying for my sons passport soon and was wondering how much proof I need of my 'physical presence..in the United States before the child’s birth"

Would my college transcripts from about 10 years ago be enough?

In my experience, the embassy is usually happy to accept transcripts. They do NOT need to be sealed.

Tax returns are good to have as well (if you have a copy).

Also, it's looking like we might need to fly out to the US in the next month for medical reasons, do you happen to know if there's a way we can expedite his passport?

Yes, tell them your travel dates and they will do a same day passport if required. It will only have a one year validity, but you exchange it for a full validity passport upon your return (I believe you post that and it’s easy).

Have you booked an appointment with the embassy yet?  You’ll find they are very helpful over email, so you can feel more confident going in.
