ILR Visa Queries
« on: August 05, 2024, 05:08:38 PM »
Hello all,

I hope everyone is doing well.

I am able to apply for my ILR this  year and have a few queries.

1.  I  landed in UK on December 10, 2019.  My BPR expires December  31, 2025. When can I submit my ILR application?

2.  Am I required to take my Life in the UK test before or after I submit my application?
             a. Is this an in person test?
             b. How  much does it cost?
             c. am i allowed to retake if I fail? how many tries do i get?

3. How much does ILR application cost and what are the process times?

4. I read mbmoffat's post from April 21, 2022,. Are there any changes to this process that i should be aware of?  https://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=100139.msg1318942#msg1318942

Thank you in advance for your help. always appreciated.

These should answer your questions-

https://www.gov.uk/indefinite-leave-to-remain-family/partner-family-visa

https://www.gov.uk/life-in-the-uk-test

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/visa-regulations-revised-table/home-office-immigration-and-nationality-fees-24-july-2024#other-applications-made-in-the-uk

As you can see, you need to prove you have passed the Life in the UK Test when you apply for ILR. You can take it as many times as you need to pass. It isnt that hard to pass but best to get it out of the way asap. Those who leave it to the last moment and don't pass, will need to put another valid FLR(M)application in before their visa expires.
