Eligibility of free childcare - 3/4 yr old and new 2yrs+
« on: March 20, 2024, 11:00:29 AM »
Hi all. I'm finding some conflicting info on this online and not entirely sure what our rights are.

I'm British and my partner is American on working visa (no access to public funds). Our son is now 1.5 yrs old.

Are we eligible to get the free childcare hours (i believe 15 hrs per week) when he is 3 and 4? What about the new 2years+ entitlement?

Have you looked on the government site?

This one reads like you would have to be in receipt of welfare benefits

15 hours free childcare for 3 and 4-year-olds reads like it is for everyone

EDIT You could try this government link for those that live in England. It gives the links to the other 3 nations free childcare-
