Safety of travel...

I hope so! Birmingham is so much closer to where I am going too which is nice! Have you flown in or out of there before? Just wondering what to expect. Gatwick was pretty easy for me since they only had the few terminals, and I just followed the people in front of me so not to get lost 

Nope, this'll be my first time flying in or out of Birmingham. I normally use Heathrow -- and haven't used Gatwick for decades. But given that it's smaller than Heathrow, it's bound to be a bit less stressful!

Thanks Belindaloo, I am sure it will be fine. I am really more worried about changing planes in New York, but that I will figure out too  I am soo excited I am driving myself mad haha I feel sory for everyone around me until November now, they have to listen to me go on about my trip back 

Brum airport is great,although I noticed the last time we got back,they have altered the passport place,you now have to go through one of those roped off barrier thingies which wind left, right, left, right forever instead of just milling across an open space.Then after you find your cases and through customs,(and theres no-one there half the time) you're straight out onto the street opposite the car parks,taxis to your right.

NY's not bad. Is it JFK? You'll be fine! It's big but everything's clearly signposted, so you really can't go wrong.

No idea what airport it is...lol. The thing said New York/New Jersey when I chose the flight and the airport code is EWR??? I just worry because I am directionally challenged, but I am sure I'll be fine. I'll just ask anybody that will listen where I am supposed to be going if I get mixed up

I'm too slow LOL.

Unless you are changing airlines, the gates are usually next to each other since they are basically just changing equipment (short to long haul aircraft)..........at least it was last time I flew American thru Newark)
