Is there any other way to finger suck?  Colour me surprised people do it in private!  lol
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

But only with extra lean steak mince so you get none of the grease and all of the beef  ;D ;).

Late here on this post.

I am leaving my us post after several years.  They know about my new post with Essex Council, and in fact my supervisor is British.  He wrote one of my referee letters.  This is a emotional time as many of my collegues and I have tremendous respect for each other.
My plans are to keep my departure as clean as possible.  No bridge burning here, but not allowing myself to be caught up in other's agenda's.  Proper notice time is really all that is neccessay.
My written notice goes out today, but the staff has known of my departure for sometime now.  Many of the client's ( young people) involved in our program have lives full of unpredictable adults, and my respect for them requires a predictable notice time.
Striking a balance between responsibility to other's, and living one's life is delicate, but neccessary for my mental health.

Hi Helen,

Thanks for your input. It sounds like you're doing what is necessary for your position. I hope it all goes well for you.

Well, I told my boss on Tuesday, after giving notice to marry on Saturday and returning to the US on Monday, President's Day. I wanted to wait till giving notice before saying anything, so I didn't jinx anyone.

I had planned to walk into my boss's office Tuesday morning, but when I got home from England and checked m work emails, I found out that my boss had gone to Italy for a holiday and hadn't said anything to me before I had left for England. So, wanting to give her as much time in advance to prepare for my leaving as possible, I called her in Italy and told her. She was very happy for me, she said she was almost crying for joy.

The news has spread like wildfire. People I haven't told personally are coming up to me, congratulating me and hugging me, it is wonderful. I've told everyone the truth; that I have been engaged since August, but I didn't want to say anything till I had my visa and I knew that everything was going to work out. I think the idea that was suggested of me saying that I had just gotten engaged, so my boss didn't think I had hidden something from her, was very good, but in the end I just couldn't lie about something this important to people that I like.

It's also very nice to quit a job because you have something good going on in your life, rather than because you are unhappy with the job.

:)
