Driving in NYC is actually a lot easier than people think.  I have done it many different times.  Too bad we are coming from opposite directions- we could go together!   ;)  As long as you have good written directions you won't find it too difficult to find.  I have never been to the embassy and will be trying to find it myself, but I know the roads are well marked, very wide, and at that time of the morning shouldn't be too congested.  What day are going?

Driving into the city is very easy...I just followed Mapquest directions and went right to it. As far as the Embassy...I walked by it because it is NOT well marked. It is on the (I believe) tenth floor of a building without a UK flag or anything on the outside that would give you a clue. It isn't hard to find though as the buildings are well numbered.

I remember there being big Union Jacks outside when we went -- I wonder if they took them down for some sort of security reason?   ???  Otherwise, it is a pretty non-descript building and we certainly wouldn't have noticed it!
