Roasted peanuts in the shell
« on: March 18, 2005, 11:45:50 PM »
When I first moved here, I thought these were something I could only find in the States.  But now I realize they've been at Tesco's all along.

'cept they're called 'Roasted Monkey Nuts'. ;D

'Snap'

'Fun'

'More-ish'

Not sure I'm have that sort of experience but they do taste pretty good.

But they aren't salted. :(  I need salted monkey nuts. Actually both of us do - I married the only other person I know that eats the shells as well as the peanuts.  Has anyone found salted ones?

I know, I'm sorry wildrose (about the no salt thing)!  My bro brought a 2lb bag of roasted, salted in the shell last week from Detroit.  All I can suggest is that these peanuts travel really well, are cheap (light weight) and maybe if you are on the next food swap here, someone will send you lots of them.

If I ever see the salted variety, I'll post here.

thanks!

I always forget to ask for these when relatives are sending a care package. I always remember the sunflower seeds though :)
