Where to buy petite sized clothing in the UK

Does anyone know what department stores carry petite sized clothing?  As I will no longer have access to Macy's and Nordsrom's petite sections I'm in a real dilemma!   Right now I'm stocking up before moving to the UK!!!    What's the UK equivalent?

Most shops I've been in carry a petite range.  I can't think of one store that specialises in petite sizes, but that doesn't mean there isn't one -- I'm just not petite, so I wouldn't be looking for them!   

I am petite and I've found it very easy to find nice-fitting clothes.  I've been able to find petite sections in most of the high street stores I've been in. Debenhams and Next come to mind.

Not petite myself -- but keep in mind the regular sizes here tend to run smaller anyway.  Also -- DO stock up on clothes before coming...everything here is ridiculously expensive so I try to save clothes shopping (if at all possible) for when I go back to the States.

Clothing sizes refer to width (how thin or heavy someone is). The term petite refers to height.  A 5-foot tall woman who is a size 12 would be considered petite. A 6-foot tall woman who is a size 6 would not be considered petite, even though she would be quite thin.

I wear a larger clothing size in the UK than in the US, but I am still petite in both places.

I'm doing masses of shopping right now!  As I'm from California, I have to make some real alterations to my wardrobe!

Boy do I disagree with this statement.  Everthing runs big here, to me.  Most stores don't even carry less than a size 8, which I can't wear.  I have only found Next to carry a 6, which only fits half the time.  It is ridiculous.

To the OP, Next has a petite line, which is pretty decent. Plus, Next will order whatever size you need and have it delivered to the store.  Love that!!!!  Debenhams does some petites, but I have trouble finding the petite section in my Debenham's.  They move it around a lot.   

This is a really late reply as I've been gone but Principles also has a large & good petite section that I loved. I used to work there and they made a real effort to make their petite sections bigger and nicer.

I agree. I have no trouble finding petite (short) clothes. I do have trouble finding thin clothes. I am either a 6 or an 8, depending on the brand of clothing, and 8's are hard to find, let alone 6's. The thing is, I'm not unusually thin. From a medical standpoint, I am the "correct" weight for my height.  In the States, I saw plenty of women thinner than me.
