HE FINALLY DID IT!!!!!!
« on: April 27, 2005, 10:26:43 AM »
Ive been trying to potty train my 2 yr old boy Alex and basically been letting him run around the house without a nappy on and asking him all the time if he needs to use the potty which is a potty that has a handle on the side that flushing noises and music you can press after you use it and sits in the front room. Or he can use the big boy potty upstairs which the grownups use.  ::)

Well after cleaning up peepee on the sofa or finding puddles on the floor for the past couple days today my boy went on his own and used the potty for a number 2 and I was in the kitchen when this happened and he came running up to me and said ''mama poopey mama!'' he was so excited and so was I that I called up my husband at work so our little boy could tell him what he did.  ;D lol

I just thought Id share and even though he may not be fully trained yet I see light at the end of the tunnel.  ::)   How long did it take for your child to want to start using the potty?

Great news!
Coby and Brett took forever. Both just before their 3rd birthday. Jordan was easy. He was dry just before his second birthday. But he was my only child at the time so I had more time to devote to it.

Congratulations!  I'm going to use that method to potty train Niall.  I thought I'd start allowing him to run around with just undies once the weather gets a bit warmer.

Glad to hear it's working! My son will be two next month, and I dunno if I'm looking forward to, or dreading the whole training thing! My sister potty trained her son in two days......but she had to carry a potty around in the car whenever she went out, because he wouldn't go in the BIG potty...

Well Ive noticed sometimes over here it can be hard to find a public toilet to use, and I dont think it will be any time soon before I can just tell my child to hold it til we get home. So maybe having a port-a-potty for those just in case times might not be a bad idea.  ;D
