legally i have taken his name but my passport still has my maiden name on it.  i applied for my visa in my maiden name (with his name on there as it says: Spouse of....)

I book all tickets in my maiden name still, at the moment.  I will send my passport to the consulate after our july trip for the ammendment.  i think it's just a stamp in your passport and it is processed quickly.

You'll be alright -- your marriage certificate will show your maiden name if they need proof.  You can change your name in your passport once you get over here, if you want to wait.  It used to cost £26, but now it's free!   :)

Congrats on getting married!   ;D ;D ;D

you guys ROCK. and i am all about free! yeah i think i will do it from there. I am only worried because of traveling. You know they act a fool and make u jump through hoops and perform miracales at the airport . I dont want them to get crazy if i have a passport with a diffrent name on it.
  :)
do i just show my marriage cert. at the desk when i check in? and to the I. O?

Have you bought a plane ticket yet? It's probably easiest to just buy the ticket in your maiden name, so the ticket and passport match.

Shala, if you already have a US bank account in your maiden name, they may not let you change that to your married name, until you change it with the SS office :) At least, that's what I discovered last year,,lol.

Congrats! ,, you waited a long time for this marriage thing :) Hope you guys will be very happy :)

I just have it changed with the SS office as of right now. i have not changed it  on any legal docs yet. I may wait until after i move :)
:) U GUYS ARE THE BEST. I will just get my plane ticekt on my  current bank card and just fly into the UK that way without hassle. LORD KNOWS I dont need ANY MORE Airport hassles.
