Looking for Work in Yorkshire...

As I stated in my welcome post...

My partner & I are moving to Northallerton for our Master's programs in Musuem Studies and Medieval History.  Both of us are looking for work after we graduate so that we can stay in the country. I am also a qualified teacher in the US. We are both looking for positions in museums in the area (there are many). But we are unsure about how to go about looking... and what the legality is concerning our visas. Our student visa says we have to return to the US after our schooling ends. Does that mean we have to leave the UK then apply for work or can we just stay there and do so?
