Hi! I was wondering if anyone could give advice on nanny work for me.... I have been looking on the gumtree website but I know that I can't get a visa since I am american...

You'll need a visa to work in the UK, as a nanny or in any other profession or job.  There isnt really any way around that I'm afraid!

Are you moving over here to go to school or anything?  Check out the visa section of this website for more information on how to move to the UK and legally work.  You don't want to just arrive and be turned away by immigration, trust me.
