American Virgin BA?
« on: May 29, 2005, 10:07:24 PM »
Ok, in the spring Yasmin and I went to NYC on BA and we had the child seat that they provide instead of the cot/bassinet since she was nearly 12 months old.  We're now planning another trip, but we'll probably fly on AA or Virgin since they're having special offers.  I'm really confused by their websites.  They say that I have to pay for a seat for Yasmin (yikes!).  I plan on calling Customer Service, but I was just wondering if anyone's had experience with either of these two.  I had a good experience with BA, but they're nearly 100 pounds more.

I worked for AA in the USA. Yes you will have to pay for any seat occupied for any member of your party no matter their age. If the child is under two years old you may choose to hold her on your lap but she will still require a boarding pass and taxes will still have to be paid.

Aer Lingus charges a reduced rate for child tickets, so do be check with the airlines you are considering if they do the same. It's not as nice as getting it for free but it helps. :)
