Work permit holder in UK bringing in wife
« on: June 01, 2005, 09:20:01 PM »
I am a US citizen currently in UK through a work permit since November 2002 and I plan to marry my girlfriend (who is a Philippine national) in 2006.  What is the process of being able to get her a visa to enter the UK as my wife?

Thanks,

Luis

Certainly the first step would be to approach your WP sponsor and find out what their policy is for family reunion if you get married ex-start date.  If they say you're on your own - which I would doubt - then check back here and let us know...

Thanks Garry, I will ask my employer about their policy.  I have a strong feeling that they may not know and may have to consult with Deloitte & Touche since they were the ones that procurred the work permit.

I will most likely be back again.  Thank you again.

She is considered a work permit dependant.  The process is fairly simple to get the visa.  You basically show your passport and permit and your marriage license.
