Thoughts on Hampton Hill
« on: June 29, 2005, 06:08:14 PM »
We found a place in Hampton Hill and have reserved it.

I wanted to find out from folks here what their thoughts might be about this area. It does not have the easy access to public transportation that we wanted,  but the house we found is amazing. Plenty of room, garage, north american sized appliances, large yard... its pretty amazing.

Any feedback on what there is in walking distance, access to public transportation, etc. would be helpful.

Thanks,
R

Hampton Hill is not far from Fulwell BR which has services in London Waterloo.  I'm not sure how often trains would during peak/non-peak times.

There are also bus links into Twickenham as well which has direct service to London Waterloo.

That sounds good.

Once we are settled in, I will usually have three little boys in tow, so the easier access to transportation the better.

I have not seen the Hampton Hill area myself yet, but I understand there is plenty within walking distance anyway. I am a bit of a history Geek so being able to get down the the museums and such will be a big deal for a while. Of course, the country itself is a museum, so there will always be plenty to see.

We leave on the 28th for our final visit before the official move.

Thanks,
R
