AnnerR--Unfortunately I don't stay in touch with my professors. They were quite a weird bunch in any case, I once applied for an exchange program for Aus and needed a reference, and got a (British!) teacher to grudgingly agree... So I think that's out.

Sweetpeach--that's good to hear! Of course I list all of my languages in my CV, it'd be career suicide if I didn't! ;)

lord knows we need as many language speakers here as possible!  we have a new admin and love that she also knows french and german!

i'm learning italian, as we need that too!  i've never been in a more global position!

Yes, languages are so important.  I speak four languages and put that on my CV.  I actually registered with a couple of agencies and got email responses from them to come in and register!  So I feel a little better that I may possibly find something on my arrival to the UK.  It may be temporary, but its better than nothing!
