Finding auto insurance

I've been trying to get some quotes for insurance but most companies are refusing to insure me because I don't have UK license. I was able to get one quote, but obviously, I'd like to shop around a bit. I was hoping people here could tell me what companies they were able to get insurance through before getting a UK license.

If you go to an insurance broker -- rather than direct to one of the big insurance companies -- they should be able to sort you out. They have access to all the insurance companies nationwide and will be able to find one for you that doesn't require you have a UK license. I can't remember exactly who they got for me my first year here, but I think it might have been Zurich. Anyway, just open your Yellow Pages and find a local broker and let them do they work!
