Once we get to Scotland we will need to purchase a car. We will be living in a village 10 miles from work, and while there is bus service, it is infrequent and shuts down in the evening.
I have had trouble finding information about fuel efficincy, safety ratings, insurance rates, polution, etc.. for cars sold in Britian. I studied all of this before purchasing our car in the US. But the models I'm looking at there are different than what is sold in the US, and I cant find a web site with all this info.
Can someone point me to a web site with such information ?
Does anyone have suggestions for a good, small car which we can find used for not too much money. Ideally I am looking for a small car which uses little petrol, which won't crush like a can when we are run of the narrow, curvy road between work and home (which the natives seem to think is a Grand Prix course). I'm looking for used cars about 5 years old or so.
