Visa Question for a Chinese Citizen

Hiya

Rich just emailed me asking if I knew any info for a friend of his from work.  He just got engaged to a Chinese citizen and I'm not too sure where to send her.  They need to get a Fiancee Visa.  Can she get that in Croyden?  Is there a website?

Is the friend from work asking about the Croydon because she's already living in the UK? If so, on what legal basis is she living there now?

I don't think you can get a fiance visa within the UK can you? Only from abroad.  What kind of visa is she on now, visitor? student?

Thing is, I have no idea.  There is a guy that works with Rich and asked him about it because of me.  They have a deadline coming up, so I'm not sure if he can tell me.  I'll ask him though.

Just found out she is still in China.  So I told Rich to tell this guy about the Fiancee Visa process and to contact the British Embassy there for what she will need.

Yep that sounds like the best plan.
