JFK Airport
« on: August 16, 2005, 01:27:31 PM »
Does anyone know if there is a way of getting from JFK airport to either a Metro North Station or an Amtrack Station without having to get to Grand Central or Penn Station?  If so, what is the nearest Metro Norht or Amtrack station to the airport?

The ultimate goal is to get to Albany, so we could take Amtrack all the way there. My brother is willing to pick us up in Yonkers, or Poughkeepsie so Metro North would be fine too.

Suggestions welcome! Thank you!

The main Amtrak station in NYC is Penn Station.  The main Metro north station is grand central.  Really, you want to go to one of those.

You take the airtrain from JFK to Jamaica (queens), then you take either the E train (Subway) or the LIRR into Penn Station.  Depending on how much luggage you have, you might consider taking the subway from Jamaica to Grand Central.

If you need more clarification, please ask.  I lived in NYC for 5 years.
